About The MTN Foundation Scholarship 2024
The Youth Development Cause (YDC) based MTN Foundation Scholarship 2024 is an annual prize that seeks to recognize and honor the top-performing students in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
It supports the best performing full-time students from all Nigerian tertiary institutions comprising Universities, Polytechnics, and College of Education.
Additionally, it helps students who are not financially stable but need to further their education and enhance their academic greatness.
This scholarship covers tuition, books, stipends, and allowance and is awarded to a maximum of 500 deserving full-time Nigerian students enrolled in science and technology courses.
Existing beneficiaries who have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or close are eligible to renew the scholarship every year until they graduate. Full-time students in their second year of study are allowed to submit new applications as soon as they become available.
Documents Required For The MTN Scholarship 2024
An inspection examination will be conducted for all interested applicants after their details are confirmed. They will also need to go with two (2) passport photographs and photocopies of the following documents:
- Student Identify Card (ID)
- National Identity Card, Driver’s Licence or International Passport.
- JAMB Admission Letter and University Admission Letter
- HND Admission Letter (For polytechnic students only)
Eligibility Criteria For The MTN Foundation Scholarship 2024
There are four main criteria used in selecting qualified students for the MTN Scholarships, they’re listed below:
Criteria A: Eligible Institution of Study
MTN STS (Science and Technology Scholarship) and MTN SBS (Scholarship for Blind Students) are available for all students from Nigeria Institutions ranging from Universities to colleges of Education.
Criteria B: Course of Study
- All 300-level students studying science and technology-related courses in Nigerian tertiary institutions are allowed for the MTN STS scholarship.
- All 200 and 300-level blind students are allowed for the MTN SBS scholarship.
Criteria C: Level of Study
- Students who have completed their second-semester examinations of their 200 level and are going to the 300 level and those who are in the 300 level currently are all qualified for the MTN STS Scholarship 2024.
- For blind students, it is open for all 200-level and 300-level students in any Nigerian Tertiary Institution except blind students studying Law (5 years course) will only be allowed to apply to the 300 level.
Criteria D: CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)
For the MTN STS Scholarship:
- University and College of Education students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.50 out of 4.00 or 3.50 out of 5.00 grading scale respectively
- Polytechnic students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in their OND result and must have gotten admission to the HND program.
- Direct Entry students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and must have been admission into a University and currently be in the 300 level.
For The MTN SBS (Blind Students) Scholarship:
- Blind students in the university or college of education must have a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
- Blind students in the polytechnic must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in OND results and must have gotten admission into the HND program.
How To Apply For The MTN Foundation Scholarship 2024/2025
The annual MTN foundation scholarship online application process requires two-step and the steps are as follows;
Step 1: Account Creation (Username and Password)
- Visit the MTN Foundation Scholarship Portal
- On the home page, click on Create Account
- Fill in your Name, E-mail, and password and click on submit
- Then log in with your email and password you filled in earlier.
Step 2: Main Application
- Select the Login option after entering your email address and password.
- Copy the 12-digit PIN with your page after logging in, then select the “Apply for Scholarship” option to start the application.
- Enter the 12-digit PIN and select “Apply Now.”
- Choose the Submit option after completing the Application Form with all necessary information.
- For use in the confirmation process, make sure you print a second copy of the completed form.
