About Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS)

National University Commission (NUC) received the request to create Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) in February 2020, the university officially opened its doors in the next academic year. On the 12th of May 2022, permission was granted to begin university activities.

However, the first Northwest Governors—among them our proprietor Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakada Wamakko, and others—started the Northwest University’s fundamental concept around 15 years or more ago.

NWUS General Admission Requirements

For you be considered for admission into the Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS), you are advised to meet the following requirements:

  • Have a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in relevant subjects.
  • You must have a minimum JAMB score of 170 in the recent JAMB Exam.
  • Have a good score in the NWUS post UTME Exam.
  • Have a merit pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND) and other advanced level certificates (DE Candidates only).
