About University of Uyo

The University of Uyo is located in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The university was formerly known as the University of Cross River State, Uyo.

On 1 October 1991, the Federal government of Nigeria established it as a Federal University, and the name was changed to the University of Uyo. The university inherited students, staff, academic programs, and the entire facilities of the erstwhile University of Cross River State established by Cross River State in 1983

UNIUYO General Admission Requirements

For you to be considered for admission into University of Uyo (NIUYOU), you are advised to meet the following requirements:

• Have a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in relevant subjects.
• Have a minimum JAMB score of 180 in the recent JAMB Exam.
• Have a good score in the UNIUYO post-UTME Exam.
• Have a merit pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), and other advanced level certificates (DE Candidates only).
